The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold (Psalm 18:2).

Some days, the news and social media are hard to watch. Although the statistics are being manipulated to say crime is decreasing, those who live in the most hostile cities and areas would disagree. Jesus warned his disciples that in the end times lawlessness would increase and the love of many would grow cold. The Bible also warns us that people will call evil good and good evil, substitute darkness for light, and bitter for sweet (see Isaiah 5:20). This means people will choose the opposite of what is good. The only answer for lawlessness is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the light of the world and the fullest expression of God’s love.

• Pray for Americans to receive a revelation of light and truth; both can only be found in Jesus (see John 8:12; 14:6).
• Pray for peace (shalom) and for Christ’s followers to exercise their spiritual authority to destroy the works of the devil that are causing crime, chaos, and conflict in our cities and nation (see Romans 16:20)

• Pray for wisdom, courage, and protection for law enforcement and first responders.
